The Living Heritage Trust is a not for profit organisation dedicated to the preservation of the heritage of Sri Lanka. We work to protect age-old skills, ancestral livelihoods, inherited wisdom, village lore and the purity of Sri Lanka’s natural environment. These things are the true inheritance of every Sri Lankan.

Our mission is to preserve and promote tradition as a source of wealth generation linking the local and rural to the national and international and harnessing the latest technology in the pursuit of this goal.

Our projects span the various sectors of livelihood generation, environmental concerns, education programmes, agriculture, knowledge conservation and peace activities.

Our approach is holistic, and tuned to the fine cultural nuances that shape Sri Lankan society.
