George C. Chesbro

George C. Chesbro writes mysteries, including the Mongo series. Dr. Robert Frederickson, also known as Mongo the Magnificent, is a dwarf, ex-circus headliner, martial-arts expert, and private eye. The Mongo series is a blend of mystery, suspense, science fiction, and the supernatural.

Other major characters include Mongo's brother, Garth, and the ex-CIA agents Veil Kendry and John "Chant" Sinclair. Chant was introduced in three novels published under the name "David Cross" and later appears in the Mongo title Dark Chant in a Crimson Key. Veil appears in several of the Mongo titles, as well as in two non-Mongo novels.

In addition to the novels, Garth and Veil have recently been featured in short stories published in "Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine" and "Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine." A complete list of short stories is included below.
